The Rotary Club of Oakland #3 is the largest, most active and well-known service organization in the community. We are a leadership organization working together to make a difference. Our members include local business, nonprofit, professional and civic leaders. We form lasting friendships through our shared Rotary experiences including weekly meetings with interesting speakers, committee meetings and projects, social events and group service projects within our community and internationally.
We hold orientation sessions for brand-new members to acquaint them with the many opportunities the club has available for fellowship and service. Orientation is held monthly. If you have missed your orientation, please contact our Executive Administrator, who will get you scheduled for an orientation. Orientations are held in person and on Zoom.
Your time, energy, and a passion to improve your world are all you need to get involved with Rotary.
We have many projects. One is during months with a fifth Fridays finds our club providing a community meal at the College Avenue Presbyterian Church. We may meet and prepare materials during our lunch meeting or in the evening at the church to help prepare the meal service. We send wheelchairs to Mexico and facial reconstructions in Guatemala. We find holiday gifts for kids who might not get any presents.
Rotary Club of Pleasanton was founded July 17, 1965 and currently has approximately 90 members. Club members participate in a wide variety of local and internationally focused projects.
The Club has a special interest in community youth and dedicates much of its energy to helping local young people develop into caring, responsible citizens. We also have concern for our seniors and have several projects dedicated to helping improve the lives of those in their later years.
Service is the very core of Rotary’s character. It promotes Rotary’s appeal and visibility in the community, and why Rotary continues to thrive. Rotarians recognize the importance of giving back to the community. As Rotarians we have the reasonability to find ways to improve the quality of life for those within our communities and to serve the public interest.
Volunteering for a community service activity is a wonderful way to invite friends, family and community members to participate in Rotary.

Pleasanton North Rotary (PNR) exemplifies Rotary International’s “People of Action” initiative through its unwavering commitment to community service and impactful projects. On June 1st, PNR sponsored and participated in the Pleasanton Military Families’ annual pancake breakfast. These funds contributed to care packages for deployed military personnel during the August pack out.
Additionally, PNR has a longstanding tradition of supporting local organizations and initiatives. The club has provided meals to homeless veterans at the biannual East Bay Stand Down, assisted in setting up Camp Arroyo for the Taylor Foundations’ annual fundraiser, and renovated facilities for various community groups.
Through these and other endeavors, Pleasanton North Rotary continues to embody the spirit of “Service Above Self,” making a tangible difference in the Tri-Valley community and beyond.
